For God and Country

The American Legion is the Nation's largest veterans' organization and represents millions of men and women who have proudly served and continue to serve in this country's armed forces. The legion offers camaraderie and assistance to veterans with their battles for benefits and medical care. The Old Town Alexandria American Legion Post 24 is that local link for the Veterans of our community.
The American Legion Post #24 is located on the corner of Royal Street and Cameron, next to Gadsby's Tavern, in the middle of historic Old Town Alexandria. We are open every evening and encourage all veterans to stop by and check us out.
The Post general membership meeting is held on the second Wednesday of each month at 2000 hours. Our canteen serves a great blue plate special dinner on that night starting at 1830.
The Post Auxiliary members meeting is held on the first Tuesday of each month at 1900. The canteen serves another blue plate special dinner on that night starting at 1830.
Monthly breakfasts are served on the second Sunday of each month from 0900 until 1200. This is opened to all veterans and the public. Parking is FREE at the garage next door on most Sundays except during holidays and special events.
Every Tuesday night is game night starting at 1900. Stop on by, play some cards and check out our dinner specials.
On the first and third Wednesdays of each month is "Movie Night" in the clubroom. Movies start at 1900 and there are drink and food specials.
We have the perfect spot to host your next special event. The historic legion halls, complete with hardwood floors, are available for party and event rentals. For more information or to reserve one of these unique spaces call 703.683.5564 or send an e-mail to our address below.
